Books I've Finished Reading in 2009
Just for record keeping's sake, I'm pasting the list I'd kept on the sidebar here. Don't think I'm a crazy reader, though maybe I am. A lot of these are short, though--picture books or easy readers. With all my tutoring and teaching ESL this summer, I've tried to keep track of the books I read. Might help me recall some good ones in later times if the opportunities arise again. Do you purchase copies of most of the books you read or check them out?
Good question. I was curious, so I counted. I own 21 of the books on this list. The rest were from the library or loaned by a friend, and one was in a classroom where I subbed and I finished it during her planning period. However, of the books I own, I didn't purchase all of them. Some were gifts. And of those I bought, most were bought a long time ago and I got around to reading them this year or I read them again for different reasons. I think only two were bought this year--Things are Gonna Get Ugly, because Hillary was my thesis advisor, and The Wednesday Letters because it was cheap :). How about you?
